  • 2 cups egg noodles (uncooked)
  • 1 pound ground beef (lean)
  • 1 onion (chopped)
  • 23 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups beef stock
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a rapid boil. Add the egg noodles and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and chopped onion, breaking up the meat as it cooks, until browned (about 10 minutes).
  3. Lower the heat to medium and stir in minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, and Italian seasoning. Cook for 1 minute.
  4. Sprinkle the flour over the meat mixture, stirring well. Cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  5. Gradually pour in the beef stock while stirring to avoid lumps. Allow the sauce to simmer for 5-10 minutes until thickened. Adjust with more beef stock if too thick.
  6. Fold in the cooked noodles and season with salt and pepper to taste.

Notes

For a lighter dish, substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken. You can also use whole wheat or gluten-free noodles.
