Description
A comforting family meal featuring creamy beef and egg noodles, perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups egg noodles (uncooked)
- 1 pound ground beef (lean)
- 1 onion (chopped)
- 2–3 garlic cloves (minced)
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cups beef stock
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a rapid boil. Add the egg noodles and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and chopped onion, breaking up the meat as it cooks, until browned (about 10 minutes).
- Lower the heat to medium and stir in minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, and Italian seasoning. Cook for 1 minute.
- Sprinkle the flour over the meat mixture, stirring well. Cook for an additional 2 minutes.
- Gradually pour in the beef stock while stirring to avoid lumps. Allow the sauce to simmer for 5-10 minutes until thickened. Adjust with more beef stock if too thick.
- Fold in the cooked noodles and season with salt and pepper to taste.
Notes
For a lighter dish, substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken. You can also use whole wheat or gluten-free noodles.
