Description
A comforting and quick meal featuring tender chicken pieces enveloped in a rich, sweet soy sauce glaze, served over fluffy rice.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb chicken breasts, diced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooked rice for serving
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, minced ginger, salt, and pepper. Set aside.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add diced chicken and cook until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
- Pour the sweet soy glaze over the chicken and stir well. Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through.
- In a small bowl, whisk together cornstarch and water to create a slurry, then add to the skillet to thicken the sauce.
- Serve the dish over fluffy cooked rice, garnished with chopped green onions or sesame seeds if desired.
Notes
Feel free to substitute chicken thighs for juicier meat or switch to beef, turkey, or tofu for variations. Use low-sodium soy sauce for a healthier option.
