- 1 box brownie mix (plus ingredients as required — typically vegetable oil, water, and eggs)
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- ⅓ cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 egg
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C) and line an 8×8 square baking dish with parchment paper.
- Prepare the brownie mix according to the package instructions, but reserve ½ cup of the batter for later.
- Beat together the softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Add the egg into the mix and stir gently until just combined.
- Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared baking dish.
- Drop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture over the brownie layer.
- Thin out the reserved brownie batter with a tablespoon of water and dollop it on top.
- Swirl the two mixtures together with a knife to create marbled patterns.
- Bake for 50-55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Cool completely before lifting out using parchment paper and cutting into squares.
