Ingredients

- 1 pound ground beef (or chicken or venison)
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped parsley
- 1 egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 4 hoagie rolls
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, parsley, egg, garlic, and a sprinkle of salt and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into small meatballs and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes until cooked through and golden brown.
- While meatballs are baking, heat marinara sauce in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Once meatballs are done, add them to the sauce, coating each ball generously.
- Slice hoagie rolls lengthwise and fill with meatballs and sauce.
- Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top and place in the oven for an additional 5-10 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
Notes
Great for tweaking with different meats or sauces. You can prepare the meatballs ahead of time and freeze them for later use.
