Description

A delicious Chicken Cordon Bleu recipe that is simple to make and perfect for family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless chicken breasts
  • 4 slices of turkey bacon
  • 4 slices of Swiss cheese
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup Panko breadcrumbs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Butter or oil for frying
  • 1/2 cup Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Place each chicken breast between sheets of plastic wrap and pound to an even thickness of about 1/2 inch.
  3. On each chicken breast, lay down a slice of turkey bacon and a slice of Swiss cheese, then roll tightly and secure with toothpicks.
  4. Set up a dredging station with one bowl of seasoned flour, another with beaten eggs, and a last with breadcrumbs.
  5. Coat each chicken roll first in flour, then dip in egg, and finally roll in breadcrumbs.
  6. In a skillet, heat butter or oil over medium heat and fry the chicken rolls until golden brown on all sides (about 3-4 minutes per side).
  7. Transfer to a baking dish and bake for 20-25 minutes or until cooked through (internal temperature reaches 165°F or 74°C).
  8. For the creamy sauce, mix together Dijon mustard and heavy cream in a saucepan over low heat until warmed and combined.

Notes

You can prepare these rolls a day in advance and bake them when ready to serve. Feel free to try different cheese or add herbs for variation.
