- 1 lb chicken sausage, sliced
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 1 ½ cups orzo pasta
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 4 cups chicken broth
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add the sliced chicken sausage. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until browned.
- Remove the sausage and set aside. In the same skillet, add oil if needed and sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until translucent.
- Add the broccoli florets and stir for a couple of minutes. Then add the orzo and pour in the chicken broth, bringing it to a gentle simmer.
- Cover and cook for about 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the orzo is cooked and has absorbed the flavors.
- Return the cooked chicken sausage to the skillet, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, stir, and season with salt and pepper before serving.
