- 2 tablespoons apple juice (or dry sherry)
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon dark soy sauce
- 2 teaspoons brown sugar (or white sugar)
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 head broccoli, cut into bite-size florets
- 1 tablespoon peanut oil (or vegetable oil)
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 teaspoons ginger, minced
Instructions
- Marinate the Beef: Slice the beef against the grain into thin strips, mix with soy sauce, peanut oil, and cornstarch, and let it marinate.
- Prepare the Broccoli: Steam the broccoli in a skillet with water until bright green and tender-crisp, then set aside.
- Cook the Beef: Heat peanut oil in the skillet, sear the marinated beef until charred, then add garlic and ginger. Stir in the broccoli.
- Make Sauce: Mix chicken stock, apple juice, soy sauces, and brown sugar; pour into the skillet and stir until thickened.
- Serve: Transfer to a plate and enjoy hot over rice or noodles.
