- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a greased bundt pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine diced apples, vegetable oil, and granulated sugar until well mixed.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Gradually mix into the apple mixture, then add eggs and vanilla, stirring until combined. Fold in nuts if using.
- Pour batter into prepared bundt pan and bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- For the glaze, melt butter and brown sugar in a saucepan, stir in milk, and bring to a boil.
- After baking, cool the cake for 10 minutes, then drizzle the glaze over the top and serve.
Notes
Choose a variety of apples for the best flavor balance. If desired, substitute unsalted butter and milk for non-dairy alternatives.
