Description
Irresistibly soft and festive cookies filled with minty goodness and melty chocolate kisses.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 36 mint chocolate Hershey’s kisses (or substitute with dark chocolate if preferred)
- Optional: powdered sugar, sprinkles, or melted chocolate for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt, then gradually add to the wet mixture alternately with the milk.
- Chill the dough in the fridge for 30 to 60 minutes, if desired.
- Scoop out 1-inch balls of dough and place them 2 inches apart on prepared sheets.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, until edges are firm but centers remain soft.
- Gently press a mint chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie immediately after removing from the oven.
- Cool on the baking sheet for 5 to 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Decorate if desired.
Notes
Chilled dough will yield denser, chewier cookies. Room temperature ingredients promote the best texture.
