Description

A simple and comforting strawberry dump cake that combines fresh or frozen strawberries with a buttery cake crust, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh or frozen strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 box (15.25 ounces) yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder (optional)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Wash and hull fresh strawberries, or measure frozen strawberries directly.
  2. In a bowl, mix strawberries with granulated sugar and vanilla extract. Let sit for about 10-15 minutes.
  3. Spread strawberry mixture in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Sprinkle dry cake mix on top; drizzle with melted butter. Optionally sprinkle with salt and baking powder.
  4. Bake for about 45 minutes, until golden brown and bubbly.
  5. Allow to cool for about 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a lighter option, substitute butter with applesauce or coconut oil. You can also use other fruits like peaches or blueberries for variations.
