  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare an 8×8 inch baking pan.
  2. Mash the overripe bananas in a mixing bowl until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add the melted butter and mix until combined. Stir in the brown sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  6. If desired, fold in chocolate chips or other add-ins.
  7. Pour the batter into the baking pan and spread evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Allow to cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
