Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • For the glaze: 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan or line with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine melted butter and sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, blending well each time, then stir in vanilla extract.
  3. Fold in flour, salt, lemon juice, and lemon zest until just combined.
  4. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool completely.
  5. For the glaze, mix powdered sugar and lemon juice until smooth and spread over cooled brownies.
  6. Cut into squares and serve.

Notes

Allow brownies to cool completely before glazing. You can also store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days.
