Ingredients

Scale

1 pound ground beef

1 teaspoon dried oregano

Salt and pepper to taste

1 jar marinara sauce

1 cup mozzarella cheese, cut into small balls

Olives (for eyeball pupils)

Instructions

2. In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Parmesan, garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper until combined.

3. Form into golf-ball-sized meatballs.

4. Place meatballs on a baking sheet and bake for 20–25 minutes, until cooked through.

5. Heat marinara sauce in a pot over medium heat.

6. Add cooked meatballs to the marinara and simmer briefly.

7. Press an olive into each mozzarella ball to make ‘eyes.’

8. Serve meatballs topped with sauce and mozzarella ‘eyes.’

Notes

Serve warm with garlic bread or salad for a full meal.

Use lean ground beef or substitute turkey for a lighter option.

Prepare meatballs ahead of time and refrigerate until ready to bake.

Leftovers reheat well in the microwave or on the stove.

For vegetarian version, use plant-based meat substitutes.
