Description

This hearty French onion meatloaf combines traditional flavors with a comforting dish, perfect for chilly evenings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 package stove top stuffing mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 cup French onion soup
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese (Swiss or mozzarella)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine the ground beef, stove top stuffing mix, water, diced onion, and half of the French onion soup in a large bowl.
  3. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a baking dish.
  4. Pour the remaining French onion soup over the meatloaf.
  5. Bake for about 1 hour, or until it reaches an internal temperature of 160°F.
  6. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top during the last 10 minutes of baking.
  7. Let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.

Notes

For leaner options, substitute ground beef with turkey or chicken. Allow the meatloaf to rest after baking for juicier slices.
