These Golden Rose Balls are sweet, tender balls of dough soaked in warm sugar syrup, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup milk powder
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tbsp ghee (clarified butter)
  • 1/4 cup milk (or as needed)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder

  2. Add the ghee and rub it into the dry ingredients until crumbly.
  3. Gradually pour in the milk, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  4. Cover the bowl with a kitchen towel and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  5. In a saucepan, combine the sugar and water; bring to a boil, stirring until sugar dissolves.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in cardamom powder; set aside to cool.
  7. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  8. Roll small portions of dough into balls the size of golf balls.
  9. Fry until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
  10. Soak fried balls in warm sugar syrup for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a healthier option, consider air frying instead of deep frying.
