Description

Halloween Bat Muffins are adorable, chocolatey treats perfect for parties, school gatherings, or just a fun baking project at home. Easy to make and fun to decorate, they bring a festive spooky vibe to any celebration!

Ingredients

Scale

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/4 tsp salt

1/2 cup vegetable oil

2 large eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 cup milk

1/2 cup chocolate chips

Edible decorations (e.g., candy eyes, bat shapes)

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.

2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

3. In another bowl, whisk together the vegetable oil, eggs, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth.

4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.

5. Fold in the chocolate chips for an extra gooey treat.

6. Fill each muffin cup about 2/3 full with the batter.

7. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

8. Allow to cool before decorating with edible decorations for that festive Halloween touch.

Notes

Serve these muffins with apple juice or sparkling water for a festive pairing.

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, refrigerate up to a week, or freeze for 3 months.

For a moister muffin, replace half of the milk with applesauce.

Decorations can be customized with sprinkles, candy corn, or any Halloween-themed candies.

Add 1/4 cup pumpkin puree in place of some milk for a fun fall flavor twist.
