- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 cups beef broth (or chicken broth if preferred)
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon flour (for thickening)
- 2 tablespoons oil (for frying)
Instructions
- Combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, garlic, salt, and pepper in a large bowl until well mixed.
- Form the mixture into patties about one inch thick.
- Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat and cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side until browned.
- Remove the patties from the skillet and set aside.
- Add flour to the skillet drippings, stirring for about a minute.
- Gradually stir in the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce; simmer until thickened.
- Return the patties to the skillet, coating them in gravy, and serve hot.
Notes
Feel free to swap ground beef for leaner meats or gluten-free alternatives. Adjust salt and pepper to taste.
