Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup oats
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine applesauce, almond milk, maple syrup, and vanilla extract.
  3. In another bowl, mix whole wheat flour, oats, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
  4. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and mix until just combined. Fold in optional walnuts if desired.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  6. Let it cool before slicing and serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature or a week in the fridge. Also, freezes well for up to three months.
