Description

A hearty casserole filled with layers of ground beef, potatoes, and cheese, perfect for family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 medium potatoes, sliced
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 cups shredded cheese
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare the potatoes and onion.
  2. In a skillet, brown the ground beef and onions over medium heat.
  3. In a baking dish, layer the potatoes, beef mixture, cream of mushroom soup, salt, pepper, and cheese.
  4. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes, then remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
  5. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For a lighter version, substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken. You can also use homemade cream of mushroom soup for a healthier option.
