- 1 pound ground beef
- 4 medium potatoes, sliced
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 2 cups shredded cheese
- 1 onion, chopped
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare the potatoes and onion.
- In a skillet, brown the ground beef and onions over medium heat.
- In a baking dish, layer the potatoes, beef mixture, cream of mushroom soup, salt, pepper, and cheese.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes, then remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For a lighter version, substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken. You can also use homemade cream of mushroom soup for a healthier option.
