- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for the topping)
- 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon (for the topping)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×13-inch baking pan with nonstick spray.
- Cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
- Whisk together the all-purpose flour, salt, baking powder, and cinnamon in a separate bowl.
- Gently add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until a thick, slightly sticky dough forms.
- Press the dough evenly into the prepared baking pan.
- Mix the topping ingredients (1/4 cup granulated sugar and 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon) in a small bowl and sprinkle over the dough.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes or until lightly golden and set in the center.
- Cool the churro bars in the pan for at least 30 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
Serve warm or at room temperature. You can dust with extra cinnamon-sugar if desired.
