- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Cut in the cold, cubed butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese and chopped green onions, then add buttermilk gradually, mixing until the dough comes together.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface, knead gently, and roll out to about 1 inch thick. Cut into preferred shapes.
- Place on a baking sheet and bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
For a crispier biscuit, make sure to keep all ingredients cold. Feel free to experiment with different herbs and cheeses.
