A comforting low carb dish featuring ground beef, sautéed onions, and melted cheese, perfect for family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs ground beef (80/20 fat ratio preferred)
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 2 large bell peppers, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 8 oz provolone cheese, sliced
  • 1.5 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and spray a 9×13 baking dish with non-stick spray.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat, then add diced onions and bell peppers. Cook for 5–6 minutes until softened.
  3. Add minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.
  4. Add ground beef, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 7–8 minutes until no pink remains.
  5. Stir in Worcestershire sauce and softened cream cheese until creamy.
  6. Transfer mixture to baking dish, layer provolone, then mozzarella cheese on top.
  7. Bake for 22–25 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a leaner option, swap out ground beef for ground chicken or turkey. You can also use a low-fat cream cheese variant. Adjust spice levels with red pepper flakes if desired.
