- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup macaroni
- 2 cups cheese (cheddar or a blend)
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 eggs
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: herbs (like parsley or thyme)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Cook the macaroni according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, cooked macaroni, onion, garlic, breadcrumbs, milk, eggs, and a generous pinch of salt and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Pour half of the meat mixture into a greased casserole dish. Layer half of the cheese on top, then add the remaining meat mixture, finishing with the rest of the cheese. Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown and fully cooked.
Notes
Use lean ground beef for a healthier option, and feel free to substitute with turkey or chicken.
