Description

A comforting dish of linguine coated in a rich, savory sauce made with ground beef, garlic, and ginger that comes together in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup beef broth
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 10 oz linguine
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 4 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the linguine in a pot of salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned (5-7 minutes). Drain excess fat.
  3. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant (1 minute).
  4. Stir in brown sugar, beef broth, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, ground ginger, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Mix cornstarch and water to create a slurry, then add to skillet. Stir until sauce thickens (2-3 minutes).
  6. Add cooked linguine to the skillet and toss to coat with sauce. Adjust consistency with reserved pasta water if necessary.
  7. Garnish with sliced green onions before serving.

Notes

Feel free to substitute ground beef with turkey or chicken for a lighter option and adjust the spice levels to your preference.
