Description

A simple and flavorful oven baked salmon recipe that’s perfect for busy weeknights or special gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450 g) salmon fillet
  • 4 tablespoons (½ stick) unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the butter in a small bowl and mix in the minced garlic.
  3. Place the salmon fillet on the baking sheet and brush the garlic butter over it. Combine the brown sugar, paprika, salt, and pepper in another bowl, then sprinkle over the salmon.
  4. Bake for 12–15 minutes until cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  5. Serve hot, optionally with a squeeze of lemon and sides of steamed veggies or rice.

Notes

Use fresh salmon for the best flavor or frozen salmon thawed overnight in the refrigerator. Substitute butter with olive oil for a healthier option.
