Description
Delightful pan-fried veggie buns that are crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, perfect for cozy evenings with family and friends.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup cabbage, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup vermicelli noodles, soaked and chopped
- 1/4 cup carrots, grated
- 1/4 cup bell pepper, finely chopped
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oil for frying
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Gradually add the water and mix until it comes together. Knead the dough for 5 to 7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Cover and let rest for 30 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, mix the cabbage, vermicelli noodles, grated carrots, bell pepper, green onions, and soy sauce to create the filling.
- Divide the dough into small balls, roll out each ball into a circle, and place a spoonful of filling in the center. Fold the dough over the filling and pinch the edges to seal.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry the buns for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown. Add a splash of water, cover, and steam for 5-7 minutes until cooked through.
Notes
Experiment with different veggies for the filling. For a healthier option, consider using whole wheat flour or baking instead of frying.
