Delightfully soft and whimsical pink velvet cinnamon rolls topped with cream cheese frosting for a comforting treat.
Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) instant yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk, warmed
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- Red food coloring
- Cream cheese frosting (for topping)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, yeast, and salt.
- In another bowl, combine the warmed milk, melted butter, and egg. Slowly add to dry mixture and stir until a soft dough forms.
- Transfer dough to a floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Add red food coloring and knead until desired color is achieved.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour.
- Once risen, roll out the dough, spread with butter, and sprinkle with sugar and cocoa powder. Roll into a log and cut into rolls.
Notes
For lighter rolls, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half or a non-dairy alternative. Adjust wet ingredients accordingly.
