Description

Delightfully soft and whimsical pink velvet cinnamon rolls topped with cream cheese frosting for a comforting treat.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) instant yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk, warmed
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • Red food coloring
  • Cream cheese frosting (for topping)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, yeast, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, combine the warmed milk, melted butter, and egg. Slowly add to dry mixture and stir until a soft dough forms.
  3. Transfer dough to a floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Add red food coloring and knead until desired color is achieved.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour.
  5. Once risen, roll out the dough, spread with butter, and sprinkle with sugar and cocoa powder. Roll into a log and cut into rolls.

Notes

For lighter rolls, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half or a non-dairy alternative. Adjust wet ingredients accordingly.
