Description
A quick and comforting dish of chicken and egg noodles coated in a sticky garlic sauce, perfect for busy nights.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1 pound)
- 8 ounces of egg noodles (or substitute with your favorite noodle type)
- 4 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce (or tamari for a gluten-free option)
- 1/4 cup honey (or maple syrup for a vegan version)
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 green onions, sliced
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the egg noodles according to package instructions for 5-7 minutes. Drain and reserve a splash of pasta water.
- Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat, add sesame oil, and cook chicken for 6-7 minutes on each side until golden and cooked through.
- In the same skillet, lower the heat and sauté garlic for 30 seconds. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, and cornstarch, then pour into the skillet. Stir for 2-3 minutes until thickened.
- Slice the chicken and return it to the skillet. Add the drained noodles and mix everything together, adding reserved pasta water if needed for consistency.
- Serve hot, garnished with sliced green onions.
Notes
Use high-quality soy sauce or tamari for better flavor. Add crushed red pepper flakes for a kick.
