- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup strawberry jam
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 tablespoon powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). On a floured surface, roll out the puff pastry and cut into 4-inch squares.
- Place a teaspoon of cream cheese and a teaspoon of strawberry jam in the center of each square.
- Fold corners of the pastry squares towards the center, sealing them.
- Brush the tops with beaten egg and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and puffed up. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.
Notes
For a lighter option, use Neufchâtel cheese instead of cream cheese. You can substitute the strawberry jam with other fruit preserves. To make it vegan, use a non-dairy milk alternative with turmeric for color instead of egg.
