  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup strawberry jam
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). On a floured surface, roll out the puff pastry and cut into 4-inch squares.
  2. Place a teaspoon of cream cheese and a teaspoon of strawberry jam in the center of each square.
  3. Fold corners of the pastry squares towards the center, sealing them.
  4. Brush the tops with beaten egg and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and puffed up. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.

Notes

For a lighter option, use Neufchâtel cheese instead of cream cheese. You can substitute the strawberry jam with other fruit preserves. To make it vegan, use a non-dairy milk alternative with turmeric for color instead of egg.
