- 2 lbs ground beef (80/20 preferred for juiciness)
- 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
- 1 cup cooked turkey bacon, chopped (or chicken strips for an alternative)
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced and sautéed
- 1 small onion, finely diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare your baking pan.
- Cook the turkey bacon until crispy, then sauté the mushrooms in the bacon fat.
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Worcestershire sauce, chopped onion, garlic, and eggs. Season with salt and pepper.
- Gently fold in half of the Swiss cheese and sautéed mushrooms into the meat mixture.
- Transfer the mixture to the loaf pan, topping with the remaining cheese, mushrooms, and turkey bacon.
- Bake for 45–55 minutes until internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C). Allow to rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
