  • 2 lbs ground beef (80/20 preferred for juiciness)
  • 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1 cup cooked turkey bacon, chopped (or chicken strips for an alternative)
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced and sautéed
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare your baking pan.
  2. Cook the turkey bacon until crispy, then sauté the mushrooms in the bacon fat.
  3. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Worcestershire sauce, chopped onion, garlic, and eggs. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Gently fold in half of the Swiss cheese and sautéed mushrooms into the meat mixture.
  5. Transfer the mixture to the loaf pan, topping with the remaining cheese, mushrooms, and turkey bacon.
  6. Bake for 45–55 minutes until internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C). Allow to rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
