Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 ½ cups milk, divided
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large apples, peeled, cored, and diced
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • ¼ cup butter (½ stick)
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon milk (add more if needed)
  • Canola or vegetable oil, for brushing or spraying

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Brown Butter Glaze: Melt butter over medium heat until it turns golden and nutty. Whisk with powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla. Set aside.
  2. Prepare the Fritter Batter: Preheat air fryer to 400°F. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. Add milk, eggs, lemon juice, and vanilla, then fold in apples.
  3. Air Fry the Fritters: Line air fryer basket with parchment. Drop ¼ cup batter onto it and air fry at 400°F for 4-5 minutes, flipping halfway. Drizzle with glaze and serve warm.

Notes

For a lighter option, use gluten-free flour. Substitute apples based on preference.
