- 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed and cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- ¾ cup milk (can use plant-based milk)
- 1 cup French-fried onions (plus more for topping)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Blanch the green beans in boiling water for about 5 minutes, then transfer to an ice bath.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, and half of the French-fried onions. Mix well.
- Add the blanched green beans to the creamy mixture. Fold gently and season with salt and pepper. Transfer to a greased baking dish and top with remaining French-fried onions.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and onions are golden brown.
Notes
For extra flavor, use homemade cream of mushroom soup or add sautéed mushrooms. This dish is easily adaptable for different dietary needs.
