Description

Delightful Indian cookies with a crumbly texture and sweet warmth, perfect for cozy weekends.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup semolina
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup ghee (clarified butter)
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • A pinch of salt
  • Chopped nuts (like almonds or pistachios) for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Cream together the ghee and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Sift together the all-purpose flour, semolina, baking powder, cardamom powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
  3. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture until a soft dough forms. Divide and flatten the dough into small balls.
  4. Place the balls on a baking tray, garnish with chopped nuts, and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden.
  5. Allow to cool before serving.

Notes

For best results, use room temperature ghee and sift your dry ingredients for a lighter texture.
