Ingredients

  • 20 oz cheese tortellini
  • 1 lb steak (sirloin or ribeye)
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Black pepper (to taste)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 1 1/4 cups parmesan, shredded
  • Chopped parsley (optional)
  • Red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Cracked black pepper (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season the steak with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Sear for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare. Remove and let rest for 5 minutes, then slice.
  2. In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the cheese tortellini according to package directions, about 3-5 minutes. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain.
  3. In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Sauté the minced garlic for 1-2 minutes. Add heavy cream and milk, simmering for 3 minutes. Stir in parmesan until melted. Add tortellini and steak, stirring to coat. Season with red pepper flakes and garnish with parsley if desired.
