- 1.5 pounds ground beef (75%-25% lean)
- 3 strips of beef bacon, chopped
- 3 large eggs
- 7 oz cheddar cheese, shredded
- 5 fl oz heavy cream
- Butter for greasing the baking dish
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and grease a baking dish generously with butter.
- In a frying pan over medium heat, cook the chopped beef bacon until slightly crisp. Add the ground beef, seasoning with salt and pepper, and cook until browned. Transfer to the greased baking dish.
- In a bowl, whisk the eggs until fluffy, then add heavy cream and half of the cheddar cheese. Pour the mixture over the beef layer, top with remaining cheese and bacon.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown and bubbling. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
Notes
For added flavor, consider adding sautéed spinach or mushrooms. You can also substitute with different cheeses or even a cauliflower crust for a low-carb option.
