Description
A cozy comfort dish featuring cheese tortellini in a luscious cream sauce with tender steak and garlic.
Ingredients
Scale
- 20 oz cheese tortellini
- 1 lb steak (sirloin or ribeye)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 tbsp butter
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3/4 cup whole milk
- 1 1/4 cups parmesan, shredded
- Parsley, chopped (optional)
- Red pepper flakes (optional)
- Cracked black pepper (optional)
Instructions
- Season the steak with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat, and sear the steak for about 4-5 minutes on each side. Remove and let rest.
- In the same skillet, reduce the heat, melt the butter, and add the minced garlic. Stir until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add heavy cream and whole milk, simmer, and thicken slightly. Stir in parmesan cheese until melted.
- Cook the cheese tortellini according to package instructions. Drain and add to the creamy sauce. Slice the rested steak and mix it in the pan. Garnish with red pepper flakes and parsley if desired.
Notes
For a vegetarian option, substitute the steak with mushrooms and spinach. This dish can also be made gluten-free by using gluten-free tortellini.
