Description
Hamburger Stew is a cozy, budget-friendly, and hearty one-pot meal. With ground beef, vegetables, and rich broth, it’s the perfect family dinner for busy nights or chilly evenings.
Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
1 onion, chopped
2 carrots, sliced
2 potatoes, diced
1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
4 cups beef broth
1 cup frozen peas
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
2. Add chopped onion and cook until soft and translucent.
3. Add ground beef, cooking and breaking it apart until browned.
4. Stir in carrots and potatoes, cooking for a few minutes until they begin to soften.
5. Pour in diced tomatoes and beef broth. Add Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
6. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
7. In the last 5 minutes, stir in frozen peas.
8. Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
Serve hot in bowls with crusty bread or over rice for a complete meal.
Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
When reheating, add a splash of broth to maintain consistency.
Add thyme or bay leaf for more flavor, or swap in corn or green beans for variation.
For extra spice, add hot sauce!
