Delightful heart-shaped danishes filled with creamy strawberry cream cheese, perfect for family gatherings or a cozy treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package store-bought puff pastry (thawed)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Flour (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and dust your countertop with flour.
  2. Roll out the thawed puff pastry to about 1/8 inch thick and cut out heart shapes using a cookie cutter.
  3. In a bowl, mix together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Place a spoonful of cream cheese filling in the center of each pastry heart and top with sliced strawberries.
  5. Fold the edges of the pastry over the filling and brush with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
  6. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Allow to cool slightly on a wire rack before serving.

Notes

Best served fresh, but can be stored at room temperature for 1-2 days. Alternatively, freeze unbaked pastries for later use.
