- 1 package store-bought puff pastry (thawed)
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- Flour (for dusting)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and dust your countertop with flour.
- Roll out the thawed puff pastry to about 1/8 inch thick and cut out heart shapes using a cookie cutter.
- In a bowl, mix together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Place a spoonful of cream cheese filling in the center of each pastry heart and top with sliced strawberries.
- Fold the edges of the pastry over the filling and brush with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
- Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly on a wire rack before serving.
Notes
Best served fresh, but can be stored at room temperature for 1-2 days. Alternatively, freeze unbaked pastries for later use.
