- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg
- 3 tablespoons milk
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small onion, finely grated
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 3 cloves garlic, minced (for sauce)
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (slurry, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, minced garlic, grated onion, soy sauce, salt, black pepper, and parsley. Mix gently and form into 1-inch meatballs.
- Place meatballs on the baking sheet and bake for 18-20 minutes until golden brown.
- In a medium saucepan, whisk honey, soy sauce, ketchup, minced garlic, vinegar, and chili flakes over medium heat. Simmer gently.
- If a thicker sauce is desired, whisk in cornstarch slurry and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
- Toss baked meatballs in the honey garlic sauce and simmer for 2-3 minutes. Serve warm, garnished with parsley if desired.
Notes
Keep the meatballs tender by not overmixing the meat mixture. Adjust seasoning according to your taste.
