Description
Golden-crusted, juicy hamburger patties made in the air fryer with minimal effort. These easy-to-shape ridged patties render fat evenly while locking in moisture for restaurant-quality results with no flare-ups.
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef (80% lean)
1 tsp salt (1/2 tsp for sodium-sensitive option)
1/2 tsp black pepper (coarse grind)
1 egg white
1 tsp vegetable oil (or baking spray)
Instructions
Preheat air fryer at 375°F with top rack 2-3 inches from heat source
Chill ground beef for at least 2 hours (or overnight) for easier shaping
Line work surface with parchment paper
Divide beef into 4 equal portions; shape into 1/2-inch thick patties with crisscross ridges using a fork
Lightly oil air fryer basket or use baking spray
Cook 6-7 minutes per side, pressing center lightly during final minute to test doneness
Notes
Ridges on patties help fat render while maintaining moisture
Baking spray eliminates need for vegetable oil
Sodium content can be halved by using 1/2 tsp salt
