Ingredients

  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup beef broth (or chicken broth)
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 10 oz linguine (substitutable with spaghetti or rice noodles)
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 4 green onions, sliced for garnish

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the linguine according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  2. In a skillet, heat over medium and add ground beef; cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes, breaking apart with a spoon.
  3. Add minced garlic to the skillet and stir for 1 minute.
  4. Stir in brown sugar, broth, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, ground ginger, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together cornstarch and water; add to skillet and stir until sauce thickens, about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Add cooked linguine and toss to coat evenly.
  7. Garnish with sliced green onions and serve hot.
