- 1 lb (450g) ground beef (preferably 85% lean)
- 1 large yellow onion, finely diced
- 1 medium green bell pepper, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced (or 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder)
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 12 slider buns (soft dinner rolls or Hawaiian rolls)
- 6–8 slices provolone cheese
- 4 tablespoons (56g) butter, melted
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon oil (for sautéing)
- Optional: hot sauce, sliced jalapeños, pickled peppers, mushrooms
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice the slider buns in half horizontally and place the bottom half in a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large skillet over medium heat, then sauté the onions and bell pepper for 5-7 minutes until soft and golden.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
- In the skillet, add the ground beef and cook until browned (5-8 minutes), then drain excess fat.
- Stir in Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper; taste and adjust seasoning.
- Spoon the beef mixture over the bottom buns and layer the provolone cheese on top.
- Place the top half of the buns over the filling and brush with a mixture of melted butter and garlic powder.
- Cover with foil and bake for 15 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for 5-7 minutes more until golden and cheese is melted.
- Let cool for 5 minutes before cutting and serve hot.
Notes
Feel free to customize with different spices, toppings, or veggies. For a healthier option, use ground turkey or chicken.
