Description
This tender, smoky baked BBQ chicken features a sweet and savory glaze with maple, garlic, and cider vinegar. Baked to perfection in the oven, it delivers a sticky mahogany crust and succulent, fall-off-the-bone thighs in 70 minutes.
Ingredients
4 bone-in chicken thighs (skin-on or skinless)
1/4 cup maple syrup
1 tablespoon cider vinegar
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon olive oil (for brushing)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C)
In a small bowl, whisk together maple syrup, cider vinegar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper to create the glaze
Pat chicken dry and place skin-side down on a baking sheet
Brush 1/2 of the glaze over the chicken
Bake for 30 minutes, basting with remaining glaze halfway through
Brush with olive oil and broil for 2-3 minutes (optional for extra crisp)
Let rest 5 minutes before serving
Notes
Choose skin-on thighs for extra moisture
Substitute chicken breasts, but increase cook time by 10-15 minutes
Add 1-2 tablespoons water to glaze if desired to prevent burning
