Description

A warm and comforting potato pie made with layers of tender potatoes, onions, and melted cheese, perfect for cozy evenings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pre-made pie crust
  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 6 slices of bacon (or beef/turkey bacon), cooked and crumbled
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare a pie dish with the pre-made crust.
  2. Layer thinly sliced potatoes and onions in a bowl, adding crumbled bacon and cheddar cheese, seasoning with salt and pepper.
  3. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used, then pour the mixture into the prepared crust and dot with butter.
  4. Bake for 45-50 minutes until the crust is golden brown and the potatoes are tender. Let cool before slicing and serving.

Notes

For a vegetarian version, omit the bacon and consider adding sautéed mushrooms or spinach. Adjust types of cheese for a unique flavor.
